Electronic Verification Visit(EVV)
Electronic Verification Visit (EVV) is a regulation that requires home care agencies to document that people are receiving the services that are being billed to the state. In order to be eligible for the full federal Medicaid matching funds, personal care providers, including those who offer personal care assistance (PCA), some waiver services (starting in 2020), and home health care providers (starting in 2023) must use electronic visit verification, according to the 21st Century Cures Act, Public Law 114-255 (PDF), which was signed in December 2016.Through the EVV system, it will document and verify the following data:

-
Type of service performed
-
Who received the service
-
Date of service
-
Location of service delivery
-
Who provided the service
-
When the service begins and ends.
